I centern.

Själva texten är tagen ur min speltestrapport såp den är på engelska. Dock finns det här inte med en del spörsmål och frågor/synpunkter som kanske bör vara mellan speltestare och utvecklare/designer.

Game turn 1:

First out is the catholic center that advances. The steep slopes means that they end up as FS. The artillery engages the protestant artillery but the fire is largely ineffective.

Second out is the protestant right. It attacks the catholic left. The exchange in pistol fire and the close combat up the slope results in two catholic units (croats one of them) end up FB and retreated. One protestant unit, the center one of course, is repulsed. The advance up slope  after close combat and the FH that all close combat results in means that the successful protestant units are FB after the combat as well.

Third out is the catholic right that starts an advance along the hill to avoid FH by descending to the lower ground and then climb up into contact as well.

Fourth is the protestant center that mainly just waits. It fires the remaining artillery ineffectively.

Fifth out is the catholic left. The protestant cavalry is formation broken and even if they are shaken themselves they manage to change orders to charge and counterattacks. The attack is successful and two protestant units are eliminated, but one catholic unit pursues off the map.  The Catholics again hold the hill, but now they are FB and vulnerable to a counterattack by the partly fresh second line protestant cavalry.

Last is the protestant left that is content with waiting.

Game turn 2:

First out is the catholic center that advances down the slopes so most become FB. The intent is to reform before advancing towards the catholic left to attack over the lower open ground. On the left one HI wheels to support the cavalry on the hill. The artillery engages the protestant artillery but the fire is largely ineffective.

Second out is the protestant right. It attacks the catholic left on the hill again. The catholic cavalry is ton up and only two units remain afterwards. The Catholic WC Lindelo is killed but that is negated by the fact that Baden-Durlach, the protestant WC, accompanies a pursuing cavalry unit off map.

Third out is the catholic right that starts continues the advance along the hill and starts to clear out the protestant left wing LI with cavalry.

Fourth is the catholic left that mainly just waits since it is leaderless and cannot change orders and the remaining units are FB.

Fifth out is the protestants left. The retreated LI reforms while a cavalry unit adjacent to a catholic unit counterattacks and throws the enemy back.

Last is the protestant center that is content with waiting.

Game turn 3:

First out is the catholic right that start the attack on the protestant center behind its pike wagons after some maneuvering. The defensive fire causes some casualties but the Catholics manage to get through the barrier partly and captures heavy protestant guns. On the flank the fighting with the protestants left continues and some ground is gained.

Second out is the protestant right. It tries to change orders to rally, but fails. It's one unit that is not FB  attacks a catholic cavalry unit that is FB and destroys it, and with it the replacement leader of the catholic left wing...

Third out is the catholic center  changes orders to rally and reforms.

Fourth is the catholic left that mainly just waits since it is leaderless and cannot change orders and the remaining units are FB.

Fifth out is the protestants center. They redeploy to meet the catholic breakthrough and musket fire adds to the enemy's casualties. The artillery fires on a HI unit in the catholic centers and rebreaks its formations and causes casualties.

Last is the protestant left  that is content with firing muskets and reforming cavalry.

Game turn 4:

First out is the catholic right that continues  the attack on the protestant center behind its pike wagons. The LI enemy is destroyed or retreats but the catholic HI units now are FB. On the flank the fighting with the protestants left continues but no success this time.

Second out is the protestant right. It wants to capitalize on the enemy's open flank and attack the catholic guns but all units are FB so it tries to change orders to rally and succeeds.

Third out is the catholic center  that tries to change orders to make ready but fails. It continues to rally.

Fourth is the catholic left that mainly just waits since it is leaderless and has only one FB unit at all.

Fifth out is the protestants center. Their musket fire adds to the enemy's casualties. The artillery fires on a HI unit in the catholic centers and rebreaks its formation. Again.

Last is the protestant left  that is content with firing muskets and reforming cavalry.

Game turn 5:
First out is the catholic right that successfully changes orders to rally since the lead units are FB.

Second out is the protestant center. It fires on the catholic HI units and causes casualties as well as morale shaken on both units. Maybe it is time for a counterattack?

Third is the protestant left  that fires muskets and reforms cavalry.

Fourth out is the catholic center  that tries to change orders to make ready but fails. It continues to rally.

Fifth is the protestant right that continues to rally.

Last out is the catholic left that is rather useless right now.

Game turn 6:

First out is the protestant center that successfully changes orders to charge. A HI unit wheels  towards the catholic HI inside the pike wagon barrier and  the reaction fire kills of 1 SP and causes "moral shaken". However, the advancing fire from the protestant HI breaks  the moral of the catholic HI that already was shaken and it retreats two hexes.  The Catholics are repulsed!

Second out is the protestant left. Musket fire and an attempt at a close combat into the flank of the HI unit with WC Cordoba. The preparatory pistol fire triggers a reaction fire that causes moral shaken. Close combat aborted.

Third is the catholic center  that manages to change to charge orders to make ready. They advance towards contact on a broad front.

The other wings rally.

Game turn 7:

First is the protestant center that advances and occupies the barrier that was vacated on the left.

Second is the catholic center  that manages to change to charge orders from make ready. They advance into contact on a broad front and engages the protestant front with two HI units and the two HI single hex units to the right of the pike wagon barrier with one HI unit. The attack largely fails miserably. The attack to the left (on the two single hex units is met with very effective fire and a defensive close combat from one of the protestant HI units that destroys the catholic unit! The next attack led by Tilly himself is repulsed with broken morale and Tilly as a casualty! Only the last assault succeeds, breaking into the barrier, capturing guns and destroying the LI unit. A protestant HI unit stands ready and the reaction fire is devastating.

Third is the catholic right that tries to change orders to make ready and succeeds.  The HI already in contact more to the right manages to break through barrier partly by destroying a LI unit. The reaction fire from the protestant HI units that are in place is withering and 3 SP  are lost. A cavalry unit destroys a protestant LI unit and pursues until it ends up at the end of the barrier.

Fourth out is the protestant left that attacks the pursuing catholic cavalry from behind but fails to tear the enemy a new one. The Catholics simply retreat further in behind the barrier along the stream.

Fifth out is the protestant right  that change orders to make ready.

Last out is the catholic left that is rather useless right now.

Now things are really heating up! It looks like the protestants might still manage this. Tilly lies in the dust, or is carried off the field, and the protestant HI units on their right, along with the HI that is garrisoning the town,  can advance almost unopposed and threaten the catholic  centers flank. This also increases the value of the protestant cavalry wing, albeit a small one, one the right flank as well. Since the pike wagons have better effect than I thought at first the catholic HI is pretty much fixed where it is. The main thing with the pike wagons appear not to be their protection from fire or their added fire power, though they help, but in disrupting the attacking formations by the extra FH that breaks up the advance effectively.

Game trun 8:

First is the protestant center that fires on the catholic HI units that are partly through the barriers. On the right the two single hex HI advances on the catholic cavalry unit that belong to the center. The cavalry intercepts one of the units and forces it to retreat but is then destroyed by the other unit.

Second is the catholic center  that does not manage to change from charge to rally which would have been good since all HI units are FB. They fire at the enemies they are in contact with.

Third is the protestant right that fires tries to change orders to charge and succeeds.  They attack and capture the catholic guns and destroy the last unit from the catholic left wing.

Fourth out is the catholic right that fails in changing orders to charge to renew the attacks.

Fifth out is the protestant left  that change orders to make ready.

Time to wheel the catholic center to their left to create a new front to face the protestant right and enveloping right part of the center? Maybe to late already...

Game turn 9:

First is the protestant center that continues it counterattack by following up movement with close combats.  The catholic HI to the left (from their right wing) was very weakened and MB and FB and was destroyed quite easily in close combat. The one to the right from the catholic center was still powerful (27SPand morale 8 and a WC, but FB) but a roll of 9 with a final modification of 0 means disaster. The powerful HI unit disintegrates under the fierce onslaught of the protestants...  The Catholics are repulsed with the loss of their WC which is bad since they needed to change orders and they are next up.  On the right the two single hex HI advances and are joined by the HI from the town to form a new line that will envelop the catholic centers left flank.

Second is the catholic center  that does not activate due to being leaderless. This is bad...

Third is the protestant right that fires tries to change orders to rally and succeeds.  They reform to take the offensive again.

Fourth out is the catholic right that suddenly is happy to be in make ready orders since it allows them to disengage.  The cavalry is sent as fast as possible to protect the guns from the protestant right wing cavalry and the two remaining HI units do about face and march off.

Fifth out is the protestant left  that really does nothing.
