Sounds like a plan. We can meet at the Dice Cafe. I have a couple of exams coming up and it would be a lot easier for me to join after that(Plus one of the exams is in International Politics, studying for it might make me more likely to win the game ).

Occasionally we do play Virgin Queen, Churchill, Time of Crisis etc. But I would also like to play some 1v1 hex and counter games too.

While I'm Swedish I would not mind starting/joining an English speaking group. Coincidentally I own Fire in the Lake and Colonial Twilight from the COIN series along with Here I Stand and Churchill (among a lot of other games). Have not been able to get HIS to the table yet, six dedicated players are hard to round up :/

I recently moved to Stockholm and I was wondering if there are any regular playing wargame groups in the city.

I'd especially be interested in a group that is willing to play multiplayer games, COIN, Here I Stand, Churchill, and the like.

So, I've had a very informative conversation with Mr. Rydfalk and we'll see what we can get out of it.

I'd like to publicly thank him, as well, for a very informative, friendly, and detailed response.

But since we've not been able to sort out more regular meetup I'd like to extend the offer here and see if there's any interest.

I'd like to focus on games that don't take more than 5 or 6 hours to complete.

We can decide on the frequency when we have a core group established. Once every two, three, four weeks or even once a month is fine by me.

We can hold it at my place as I'm the only inhabitant and I own a very large dinner table in a reasonably large living room. I live in Ryd so it should be relatively easy to get to.

Please let me know if you are interested and we'll see if we can set anything up.

Lincon is certainly crowded so perhaps best avoided, but what Mr Rydfalk has named as "Lyx-Friendly Fire" in March has only 12 braves signed up so far.

Yes, I've been to LinCon for shopping. But the main gaming area seemed too crowded for me.

All sorts, I'm an omni-gamer. When it comes to wargames I prefer things that aren't super-heavy and have a comprehensible ruleset, but apart from that I don't really care. I love team games, so stuff like Quartermaster General and 1775 works great for us.

My group isn't too keen on wargames, we usually play boardgames. They humour me every now and then and we get to play some, but they don't seem to enjoy them as much as I do.

I was told on boardgamegeek.com that I might find some kindred spirits here.

P.S.: As is blatantly obvious by now my Swedish isn't all that great, so if that's a concern you should be aware of my deficiencies.
