I'd love to have a guide to the museum. Would it be possible to arrange to visit on a day when you're free?

Citat från: "Mode"Don't forget the Hunter - possibly the most beautiful British jet design ever.

How could I have forgotten? Yes!

Citat från: "Mode"Anyway, wouldn't the logical next game after Bomber Command be about the 8th AF day bombing raids?

No, for two reasons:

(a) It has been done to death. Do I really need to reinvent the wheel? I'm not fond of treading old ground. The only reason I did a Battle of Britain game was that there was no game like the one I made--all the other titles being op-scale treatments with superficial raid resolution. I would need to find a novel hook--something no one else has done before--and I don't see that in the daylight raids.

(b) It's boring. Unlike the night raids, where there is a certain amount of cat-and-mouse and deception, the daylight raids make for more of a straightforward force-on-force battle, in which big raids biff their way past the opposition. There are a lot fewer decision points and even more attrition than the night game.

Hey, I am free on vacation for the next two weeks and I'd love to come up to Linköping to see the air force museum.

Any suggestions on a good day to visit? And how do I get there via public transport?

Citat från: "Detox"I have bought all your war games that is released on GMT. But I must say that Indo-pakistani war is a turn off, and I would probably not buy it even if it got outstanding reviews. "Sorry"

Buh-buh-but... Gnats! Sabres! Mysteres! Canberras! C-130 bombers! F-104s! Men with moustaches!

In other words: COOL SHIT!

Citat från: "Detox"Also the Air war of the Tactical air command wwii with typhoons etc could be a great game.

Actually I'm not sure it would. It would be even more an exercise in resource allocation.

Sadly I doubt I can make that weekend. However, I shall try and post something when I have a better idea of when I can take some time off.

Citat från: "sfclinken"What about the airwar over Europe in a "what if" conflict between NATO and the WP. We could call it Zulu Alert....

Dammit, why didn't *I* think of that?

It could be done but I think it would be a rather thankless task. I'm not sure I could be arsed.

I've never found enough game in that. It would be a rather ragged, bitty and unsatisfying campaign to model.

Well, JD has been and I've just put him on the train to Stockholm.

However, changing the subject slightly, I'm thinking of making a trip to Linköping in the summer to visit the air force museum, possibly in July. Would there be any chance of linking up with locals for this?

Sorry, I meant the 12th. Yes, JD intends to visit the Linköping museum, though I'm not sure on what day. If you want to get in touch with him, mail him at: mailto:jdwpilot@ix.netcom.com">jdwpilot@ix.netcom.com

Okay, J.D. will be in Malmö on Saturday 12 May. I am planning to take him to the Bishop's Arms pub on Gustav Adolfs Torg in the evening, roughly 7.00 onwards. Everyone is welcome to join us and get wasted and have a laugh. Who else will be there?
