It looks as if JD Webster, designer of Air Superiority and the Fighting Wings series, will be paying me a visit in Malmö in May next year.

No details yet but we may be up for drinks or games or somesuch.

Okay, J.D. will be in Malmö on Saturday 12 May. I am planning to take him to the Bishop's Arms pub on Gustav Adolfs Torg in the evening, roughly 7.00 onwards. Everyone is welcome to join us and get wasted and have a laugh. Who else will be there?

Do you mean Saturday (=12 May) or Friday 11 May?

How long will he stay in Sweden? Any chance of you two visiting the Air Force museum here in Linköping?

Sorry, I meant the 12th. Yes, JD intends to visit the Linköping museum, though I'm not sure on what day. If you want to get in touch with him, mail him at: mailto:jdwpilot@ix.netcom.com">jdwpilot@ix.netcom.com

You know if he's going to visit Linköping between 16th and 20th of May?

Great news! I'll be happy to give him a guided tour of the collection. Unfortunately, my favourite airplane of the whole collection, the Macchi flying boat fighter, is currently not exhibited, but the cold war exhibition is a gem that should not be missed. The english version of the museum web page is at http://www.flygvapenmuseum.se/en/.

Well, JD has been and I've just put him on the train to Stockholm.

However, changing the subject slightly, I'm thinking of making a trip to Linköping in the summer to visit the air force museum, possibly in July. Would there be any chance of linking up with locals for this?

There is a small airplane museum just east of Malmö (very close to Skurup where I live). Probably the smallest museum you have seen....ever. BUT they got a J35 Draken in wich you can sit and have a close look at it.

Why not visit us on Sunday 3 June, when the Swedish Armed Forces will arrange their main air show for this year at Malmen air base, next to the museum?
There will be an aerospace conference held in Linköping from Thursday through Sunday, with air shows on both Saturday and Sunday, although only the Sunday show will be open to the public. Admission to the Sunday show is free.

Our local IPMS chapter holds regular meetings at the museum on the last Sunday of each month, except July and December. Just tell me when you plan to visit and I will inform the rest of the club members.

Who's the non-public air show for? Thirld world dictators? And how do they prevent the public from getting a glimpse?

Among the dictators are all teachers and other public servants in Linköping...
